After my term as a Tremaine Dancer of the Year, I went on to attend Florida State University. I graduated in 2001 with a degree in Management Information Systems. In July of 2002, I married my husband Travis. I couldn't have asked for a more loving and caring husband! We have one daughter, Quincy and a little boy due in February of 2008. When I have time to take time off from being a stay at home mom, I travel to Tampa and help with the Dance Company at Centerstage Dance Academy. I love being a "Mommy" and I am enjoying life in Lakeland, Florida. As I look back at my experience as Dancer of the Year, my dance performances were transformed with more emotion since then. I learned how to let go and really give more of myself to the audience. I now enjoy teaching others how to "open up,” not only in dance but in life experiences as well. Being DOTY launched me on my journey of becoming more "real" and is truly a significant milestone in my life.
